April 6th 2018
Jayanti Memorial Trust has been actively conducting and supporting Continuing Medical Education to help the patients receive a rationalized treatment and care. The trust not only emphasizes the treatment of the cardiac patient but also in improving the knowledge and skills of the medical fraternity. For the same, with the technical support from Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre (MCVTC) and collaboration with Karnali Academy and Health Science (KAHS), Jayanti Memorial Trust (JMT) had an opportunity to support the Continuing Medical Education (CME) for the medical fraternity stationed at KAHS. The workshop was scheduled for the 4th of April 2018, however, the weather stood as the hurdle and unfortunately our whole team could not fly to Jumla on the same date. The workshop was actually held on the 6th of April 2018.
Overall, the workshop received a positive feedback from the participants. The speakers for this workshop helped the participants expand their knowledge in the area of cardiac care in Nepal. The participant also had the basic insight of cardiac surgical spectrum and could witness the progress and recovery of the cardiac patient post-surgery. With the help of CME not only did they get the information relating referral process of cardiac treatment for the further intervention but also about the various schemes, organizations and programs available for cardiac patient all over the country including JMT’s objective to provide the cardiac care and our support sponsoring the indigent cardiac patient for its treatment. We believe circling the information likewise would help hundreds of patient bearing financial hardship to save their life through receiving proper cardiac care and subsidies provided by the government.
In total, 37 medical staff from Karnali Academy and Health Science attended the workshop. Below are the names of the participants:
